Plattwood Farm is set on the edge of the Peak District in the peaceful, quiet surroundings of Lyme Park, a well known National Trust property and star of the BBC TV drama, Pride and Prejudice.  You can trace many unforgettable scenes, especially Darcy’s famous pool, or just explore Lyme’s dramatic moorland scenery and glorious gardens.  Children are thrilled to see close-up views of the grazing red deer, enjoy the children’s trails and have great fun on the adventure playground.

Out and about Plattwood Farm offers an ideal base for visiting the Peak District, the Derbyshire hills and the Cheshire Plain. Places to visit include Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Gawsworth Hall, Tatton Park, Dunham Massey, Jodrell Bank Observatory, Chester Zoo, the Blue Planet Aquarium and of course, Lyme Hall which is within easy walking distance.

The city of Manchester is within easy reach and amongst other attractions has  the Science and Industry Museum, the Trafford Centre and of course Old Trafford for the football fans. For something quieter try a visit to the historic market town of Bakewell, home to the famous 'pudding' or the village of Castleton with Mam Tor to climb and the Blue John caves to explore.
